The next drug take-back event will be September 27, 2014 at Sam's Club in Evans.

 

Turn in your drugs for safe disposal...

Evans Firefighters will be assisting the Evans Police Department, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, at this semi-annual event, focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our community’s medicine cabinets.  A national take-back day provides a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction. 

This one-day effort will once again bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.  The program provides an opportunity for law enforcement and the business community to collaborate and establish a safe collection site for all citizens, regardless of where they reside.

Turn in your unused or expired household prescription drugs and over-the-counter medication for safe disposal:

TIME: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

LOCATION: Sam’s Club parking lot (3247 23rd Avenue in Evans)

The following items will NOT be accepted:

Needles, Sharps, Mercury (thermometers), Oxygen Containers, Chemotherapy/Radioactive Substances, Pressurized Canisters, Illicit Drugs
