Fire Impact Fees

In 2016, the District developed and executed two intergovernmental agreements with the City of Evans. The first agreement transferred previously collected fire impact fees to the District, and the second created a process for the City to collect fire impact fees, then transfer those funds to the District.

All fire protection districts that collect an impact fee are required to post on their website each year a “clear, concise, and user-friendly report” providing certain information about the collection and expenditure of impact fees. Specifically, C.R.S. § 29-1-803 requires that the District post:

  • The dollar amount of impact fees collected to the District’s impact fee account;
  • The average annual interest rate on the District’s impact fee account; and
  • The total amount disbursed from the District’s impact fee account.
